Case Study
Badeloft
Interactive 3D configurators + full render set, delivered on time and on budget
The Challenge
White backgrounds left real questions unanswered
Badeloft's original product images were studio renders on a plain white background. Clean, but they left buyers with real questions:
- What does this piece actually look like in a bathroom, not floating on white
- How does the drain and plumbing fit together
- Is it actually the right size for the space they have in mind
- What would it look like with the specific faucet, drain cap, and material they're considering
Sinks and bathtubs come in different colors and finishes, and can be paired with different faucet styles and drain cap finishes, so buyers naturally wanted to see specific combinations before ordering. Producing a separate render for every faucet, drain cap, and material pairing, from every angle, wasn't realistic.
Badeloft had also tried placing renders in bathroom scenes, but the results didn't hold up. The bathrooms felt generic and random, the lighting was flat, and the overall quality looked cheap next to a luxury sink or bathtub. For a premium brand, images like that can hurt more than help.
The Solution
Configurators paired with lifestyle renders
We paired renders with 3D viewers to build a product experience that actually solved these problems. The 3D configurator lets buyers preview a sink or bathtub with different faucet styles and colors, different drain cap finishes, and different materials, and get a close look at how the drain assembly fits together, so they can see exactly what a combination looks like and how it installs before they order.
Alongside that, we built lifestyle renders that put each piece in a well-composed, carefully lit bathroom setting on an example vanity, not on a white background or in one of the low-quality scenes Badeloft had before. That way the pieces feel high-end, buyers get a real sense of scale and context, and each piece looks like the high-end product it is.
Before / After
White studio vs configured product
Before
Studio renders on plain white backgrounds. Clean, but detached from any real bathroom. Earlier bathroom scene attempts felt generic, with flat lighting that undercut a luxury brand.
- No way to preview faucet, drain cap, or material pairings
- Scale and plumbing remained guesswork for buyers
- Low-quality lifestyle scenes that looked cheap next to the product
After
- Real-time configurator lets buyers preview every combination, drain caps, and material pairing before they choose
- True-to-scale 3D models show exact dimensions and plumbing fit, so there's no more guesswork
- Photoreal lifestyle scenes with warm, intentional lighting that match the brand's luxury positioning
